What we collect

We collect your email address when you sign up for an account through Amazon Cognito. We also store quiz attempt records, including your score, the total number of questions answered, your percentage correct, the quiz mode, and when each attempt was made. These records are linked to your Cognito user ID.

We do not collect analytics data, serve advertisements, use third-party trackers, or process payment information on this site. Payment for optional tips is processed directly by PayPal and never touches our servers.

How we use it

We use your email and user ID to authenticate you and let you sign in. We use your quiz attempt history to show you your past performance and help you track your progress.

We do not sell, share, or use your information for any purpose other than providing the quiz service to you.

Retention

Your quiz attempt records automatically expire and are permanently deleted one year after they are written, using DynamoDB TTL. Your Cognito account can be deleted at any time through the application.

Deleting your account

You can permanently delete your account and all of your stored quiz data either in the mobile app settings, or by visiting https://uscivicsquiz.org/account/delete. Account deletion immediately and irreversibly removes your Cognito identity and every stored quiz attempt record.

Children

This application is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
